How to present you Assignment and what to Expect from your Presentation

Don’t worry….we’re all friends here

To maintain the status of the MAGD award and protect the effort of MAGD doctors around the country we do have expectations of proficiency of the dental care delivered, and  the quality of patient care delivered.  Be assured, that we are all friends here, and are all seeking to further our education and skills, but not at the expense of another clinician.

Presentation Expectations:

The entire assignment, usually offered with different options, must be completed entirely for full participation credit.  Attendance for the entire presentation session is also required.  Partial completion of the assignment is awarded with partial credit as determined by the reviewing board of MAGD alumni.

  1. Assignments are to be documented and presented in Power Point format.
    1. A video projector and PC lap top will be provided.
    2. Assignment on a thumb drive(stick) accommodates those traveling and ease of turn around time between presenters.
  1. Patient confidentiality is encouraged per HIPPA unless a ‘Model Release’ is obtained.
  2. Presenters should complete their presentations of the entire assignment in a 15-20 min. format without interruptions.  Discussions will be directed by the reviewing board, with  participant enrollment on points of interest and education after each presentation.
  3. To facilitate achievement of MAGD status, the participation credits can be distributed per the request of the presenter according to those disciplines, and hour designation as outlined in the course brochure.  Guidance of discipline distributions will be available through the IAGD alumni and members.

 Unacceptable presentations:

  1. Assignments presented following a lecture given in another location or format other than FAST TRACK TO EXCELLENCE.  To maintain continuity of credit awarded this is crucial.  Attendance at another states Mastership does not qualify for credit here.  You must return to that sponsoring organization to present and be awarded the proper completion credit.
  2. Incomplete assignments will be awarded a percentage of credit based upon the percentage of the assignment completed.
  3. A minimum standard of care must be met in each assignment as determined by your peers of general practitioners who have already attained their MAGD.  If this standard is not met, you will not be publicly embarrassed or reprimanded, but given a chance to return at the next meeting to represent the assignment and achieve the needed credits.
  4. Presentation length is to be 15-20 min. maximum.  We want to learn from your experience as much as we encourage you to attend and learn from your fellow cliniciansThe presentations of successes and failures! are often one of the most enlightening educations of the weekend.  Having said that, long winded clinicians looking for an audience to feed their starving egos are not tolerated.
